My favourite place

Everyone always asks where is my most favourite place i've visited. Thats probably the hardest question ever because I have loved every single place I have ever gone.

My favourite country is Croatia. They say Croatia is an undiscovered paradise. Its definitely true.

I went to Croatia in July 2010. We first arrived to Dubrovnik and stayed for 5 days.

Driving from the airport to the old town of Dubrovnik, the sun was setting and cast the most amazing colours over the town.
The old town is the main sight of Dubrovnik with its well preserved walls which you can walk your way around. It gives amazing views to the ocean and to view the whole of the old town.
No cars are allowed into the old town and it is paved with white marble tiles.. it is beautiful.

We spent the days going off to different islands. the best day was going to mljet where we swam in the salt lakes and hired convertibles to drive around the island. the place is stunning. I wish I was back there right now.

After spending 5 amazing days in Dubrovnik we caught the bus to Split where we stayed for 3 days. Split was definitely alot more laid back than Dubrovnik but I still loved it. We stayed in some amazing apartments right in the centre of the old town. We went to some great markets and explored the diocletians palace.
I'm always amazed at seeing places that are hundreds and hundreds of years old. I cant imagine that people were actually standing in the exact same place as I am all those years ago. I always feel like its not the real place, like its a replica of the place that was once there.

Croatia is just so amazing and the most beautiful place I have ever been to. I would love to make the time to go back again soon.

If anyone wants some more information about either Dubrovnik or Split, where to go, where to stay etc just email me on labellavita.travel@hotmail.com and I can give you everything you need!!

My Travel Bucket List

Speaking of my travel bucket list.. I found my list of things I must do and see over in Europe that I wrote when I first arrived in London 9 months ago.

I still quite a bit to go..

Ride a double decker red bus
Visit platform 9 3/4 from harry potter
visit oxford
visit egypt
visit cinque terre
see a football match
see a musical
christmas markets
ice skate in hyde park
visit san sebastian
see a flamenco show
visit greek islands
go to disneyland in paris
have a stein in germany
go to thorpe park
portobello rd markets
camden markets
see british museum

I better get cracking on the rest of the list!!

An Idiot Abroad

If you havent seen Karl Pilkington's 'An Idiot Abroad' you're missing out.
HILARIOUS!

Karl is far too comfortable in his british home and similar surroundings so when he gets sent off to all the wonders of the world to make a documentry and is so far out of his comfort zone he doesnt cope.
I loved watching his tv series and now am reading his diary and its even funnier.

I'm glad im a little more open minded about seeing the world although i'm definitely still a little prissy. I like to consider myself as a luxury backpacker. I like the backpacker lifestyle and the backpacker prices but only if its clean bed, clean sheets, clean bathroom, good food.

Anyway... I think you should all read Karl's book. you will love it.
I think i've added some more places to my travel bucket list..

Hi my name's Lyndal and I'm a guidebook-aholic

I have a big obsession with looking at and buying guide books.

My favourite part of a book store is the travel section and I could spend so long looking at all the books and fantasising about all the places in the world I want to visit. It's probably a bad hobby to have.

I cant wait to start reading my Spain book in preparation for my big summer trip...
